Blvck Hippie

Blvck Hippie is a Memphis indie rock band led by Josh Shaw that released their debut album If You Feel Alone At Parties via The Record Machine in 2021. The band describes their sound as 'Sad Boy Indie Rock,' melding emo sensibility with indie rock aesthetics and drawing influence from Kid Cudi and Kanye West alongside traditional indie rock acts. Shaw, whose grandfather worked at Stax Records, also works as a tour guide at Sun Studio and aims to show Black kids they can be part of indie rock scenes.
