Folk

James Keelaghan is a Juno Award-winning Canadian folk singer-songwriter born in Calgary who bridges traditional folk music with roots revival and Celtic influences. His songs often explore Canadian historical events and social justice themes, including "Kiri's Piano" about Japanese Canadian internment and "October 70" about the FLQ crisis. Known for his lilting baritone voice and driving rhythm guitar, Keelaghan has released numerous albums and toured internationally, including a 1991 U.S. tour as part of A Canadian Festival of Songwriters alongside Ferron, Stephen Fearing, and Connie Kaldor.
