Stober's Bar
Eastside
Lansing's oldest bar, two doors down from Moriarty's on East Michigan Avenue. First liquor license in the city after Prohibition ended in 1933. The back bar is the centerpiece — hand-carved Haitian mahogany with a stained glass Merlin the Magician and pewter griffins, originally from California and reassembled here in the early '90s. Two tournament-grade shuffleboard tables from the 1940s, red leather banquettes from the '50s, a mirrored disco ceiling from the '70s. Live music Sundays and Tuesdays. No kitchen — order from Moriarty's next door.
